When you enter information on a site you will be able to see the results on the national maps of rivers/streams and lakes on the data portal.

Any data entered onto the data portal will be available on the website for others to see. Information will be collected and used for a range of purposes depending on the type of information provided (click on the photos below to find out more).

Other ways to make a difference

There are also other initiatives which gather more detailed data on certain aspects of freshwater habitats and their species assemblages that you might want to get involved in, such as the Riverfly Partnership, the Rivers Trusts, the Freshwater Habitats Trust, CrowdWater, SmartRivers, Earthwatch Waterblitz, and the Modular River Survey.
